Joachim Brohm (recent Professor at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig) was one of the first, who early realized the importance of the American Color Photography of the sixties for the media. His work Ruhr – created in the 80s – shows moments of daily life in the German industrial region Ruhrgebiet in a very personal view. The series can also be seen as Brohm's reaction on his individual connection to the American Color Photography of this period.

This publication shows the first color photographs Eggleston had made in the sixties with his 2 1/4 inch camera, which has been a completely new camera size at the time. In a very intense manner, Eggleston gives a detailed picture of America in the Sixties, with houses, landscapes and advertising banners. Apparently irrelevant, simple objects are getting a special meaning threw Eggleston's lens.

Robert Doisneau (1912 – 1994) – originally a staff member of Renault working as a photographer, finally left the company to work freelance. In the 1940s he used to work for the resistance, documenting the occupation and later the liberation of Paris. As a photo journalist he became popular by his work for the agency Rapho, but really famous due to his Paris-street-photographs, portraying people's every-day life. His book «Three Seconds of Eternity» became a bestseller. Several times he made portraits of prominent contemporaries (e.g. Picasso with fingers from baking dough).

Only insiders knew, that he was frequently photographing the architect, sculptor and painter Le Corbusier in his different offices in the late fifties. In 1988, the best images from this series have been published for the first time.

The pictures are showing parts of Le Corbusier's work situation as well as private moments. Often Le Corbusier realizes the presence of the camera and he plays immediately with the power of the lens. But sometimes Doisneau succeeds in portraying Corbusier unobserved and authentic like in his famous snap-shots.
